Scope of work
What this service covers
Rodents don't come back through the same hole — they come back through the next one. That's why trap-and-release alone keeps producing invoices. Our network's rodent providers combine removal with a full entry-point exclusion survey, sealing gaps as small as a quarter inch so the problem stays solved.
- Interior and exterior rodent inspection with species identification
- Trapping and removal of active rodents
- Full entry-point exclusion survey and sealing (as small as ¼ inch)
- Nest removal and sanitisation where accessible
- Sanitation guidance to remove attractants like standing water and pet food
- Follow-up inspection to verify activity has stopped
Warning signs
Signs you need Rodents
- Droppings in cupboards, behind appliances or along skirting boards
- Gnaw or teeth marks on wiring, plastic or cardboard
- Scratching or scurrying sounds inside walls, ceilings or the void under floors
- Rubber or greasy smears along walls and entry points
- Birds or other animals suddenly nesting inside roof cavities
Recognising the pest early is the cheapest intervention there is. If you’re unsure what you’re looking at, request a pest inspection & quote instead of guessing.
The process
How Rodents service works
- 1
Step 1.Identify the species
Mouse or rat changes the trap size, the sealing method and the timeline. The provider confirms which you're dealing with.
- 2
Step 2.Inspect and map entry points
Every gap, pipe penetration, vent and roofline access point is logged before work begins.
- 3
Step 3.Trap, remove and seal
Active animals are removed, nests cleaned out, and the mapped entry points are permanently sealed.
- 4
Step 4.Verify
A follow-up visit confirms zero new activity before the job is called complete.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
How long does rodent control take?
Most residential rodent jobs are resolved within one to two weeks — removal of active animals is usually immediate, with exclusion work and verification completed on a follow-up visit.
Are rodent droppings dangerous to clean up?
Yes. Rodent droppings and urine can carry hantavirus and salmonella, and must never be dry-swept or vacuumed. Professionals clean them with a disinfecting process. If you find heavy droppings, don't touch them — call for an inspection.
How small a gap do mice squeeze through?
A standard mouse needs roughly a quarter inch — about the width of a pencil. Rats can manage half an inch. Most 'sealed' homes still have several pencil-width entry points.
