Refund Policy
Last updated: January 15, 2026
Applies to https://www.pestcontrolus.live
The short version: because we don’t charge you for a referral, there usually isn’t anything for us to refund. Any money you pay for pest control goes directly to the provider you hire, under their own terms. Here is the full detail, written out so there are no surprises.
The short version
- We do not charge you for a referral, so there is generally no referral fee to refund.
- We do not hold, process or guarantee payments you make to a matched provider.
- Refunds for treatment charges must be requested directly from that provider.
- Get the provider's warranty and refund terms in writing before work begins.
Overview
Pest Controlus operates as a free referral and lead generation service. We collect information about your pest problem and your address so that we can connect you with an independent local pest control provider who covers your area. We do not charge a fee for that referral, and we are not a party to any agreement for treatment between you and a provider.
Because we do not collect payment for a referral and we do not take a fee for making an introduction, there is generally nothing for us to refund. Our role begins and ends with the introduction. Everything after the point at which you engage a provider — the inspection, the treatment, the warranty, the invoice and any refund of that invoice — is a matter between you and that provider.
This policy explains how that division works, what happens if something does not go as planned, and how to raise a concern with us directly. We have deliberately not invented refund windows, processing timelines or fees that do not apply to our business, because doing so would only create the sort of ambiguity this page exists to remove.
Referral Fees — No Charge
Requesting a callback, calling our referral line, submitting a form or receiving an introduction is free. There is no membership, subscription, booking fee, convenience fee or deposit of any kind.
Some providers pay us a referral fee after you hire them. That arrangement is between the provider and us, it is disclosed to the provider, and it does not change your price, your obligation or the terms on which you engage them. You pay the provider what the provider quotes you — no markup is added on our side.
On the rare occasion that an amount is collected by mistake in error through this site, we will refund it in full once the error is confirmed. Contact us and we will resolve it promptly.
Third-Party Provider Charges and Payments
This is the most important section on this page.
Providers in our network are independent businesses. They set their own prices, deposit requirements, cancellation fees and warranty terms. When a provider quotes you, gives you an invoice or takes payment for a visit, that transaction is between you and them.
We do not hold, process, collect, escrow or guarantee any funds you pay to a provider. Payments go from you to the provider. We have no access to those funds, no authority to refund them and no ability to compel a provider to return them. If you want a refund of a charge from a provider, you must request it from that provider directly, and your remedy is whatever their published and written terms provide.
We can help you get to the right person. Contact us with the provider name and what happened and we will, where we are able, pass your request along so you are not starting the conversation from nothing. What we cannot do is refund money we never received, guarantee that a provider will agree to your request, or override a provider’s contractual terms.
Any refund terms, warranty terms or guarantee offered by a matched provider are that provider’s own. They are not terms of Pest Controlus, they are not reviewed or endorsed by us, and they may differ substantially between providers and between services. Before treatment begins, we strongly recommend that you get the provider’s warranty and refund terms in writing — the length of the warranty, what it covers, what it excludes, and what happens if activity continues. If a provider will not put those terms in writing, treat that as information in itself.
We also encourage you to ask how payment is taken, when it is due, and what the cancellation or rescheduling policy is before you pay anything. Those are the terms that determine what a refund would look like if you change your mind later.
Cancellations and Rescheduled Appointments
Cancellations, reschedules, no-shows and missed appointment windows are governed by the provider’s own policy, which varies considerably. Some providers charge a fee for a late cancellation or a no-show; some do not. We do not set, enforce, waive or guarantee any of those terms, and we do not offer a remedy of our own.
Our practical guidance is straightforward: if you need to cancel or move an appointment, contact the provider directly, using the contact details they gave you, as early as you can. Do not cancel through us — we do not hold the booking and we cannot release you from a provider’s fee. If you are having trouble reaching a provider and want help, contact us and we will do what we reasonably can to get your message to them.
Please also be aware that some treatments require preparation and re-entry precautions. If a visit has to be rescheduled because the property was not prepared — pets not secured, food and dishes not removed, rooms not cleared — the provider may treat it as a missed appointment under their terms.
Duplicate Submissions and Erroneous Charges
Occasionally the same request reaches us more than once — a callback request sent twice, or a phone call made shortly after a form submission. Duplicate submissions of a request cause no charge at all, because requests are free. If a duplicate leads to you being contacted twice, that is an annoyance we would like to know about.
If you believe you have been charged in error by a provider — for example a duplicate visit charge, a charge for work you did not authorise, or a charge after you cancelled — please contact us within 30 days of the charge appearing on your statement, and include the provider name, the approximate date and amount, and any confirmation or receipt you have.
We will look into what we can see on our side, including whether the request came from us and how many times it was transmitted. We cannot see your provider’s billing system, and we cannot reverse or refund a charge that was taken by a provider. Our role at this point is to help you get the request to the right party and to confirm what actually happened on our end. Where we can see that a provider received duplicate or inaccurate information from us, we will say so plainly.
Chargebacks
A chargeback is a dispute you raise directly with your bank or card issuer. Because the payments described in this policy are made by you to a provider, a chargeback must be raised against that provider as the merchant of record — not against Pest Controlus.
Filing a chargeback against us for a payment you made to a provider will not succeed and will usually create an unnecessary dispute for both sides. If you are considering a chargeback, please contact the provider first; most billing issues are resolved quickly once they are raised directly. If you have already filed one, contact us so we can provide you with a copy of the referral information we sent to the provider, which may help your case.
We reserve the right to suspend or decline future referrals to any person who files chargebacks in bad faith, particularly where the charge has been confirmed by the merchant to be legitimate.
Non-Refundable Items
There are no non-refundable items on our side, because there are no products, subscriptions or paid services offered by Pest Controlus. We do not sell warranties, plans, memberships or equipment, and there is therefore nothing of ours that could become non-refundable after purchase.
This section does not limit your rights with a provider. Non-refundable deposits, inspection fees, restocking-style charges or administrative fees are matters of the provider’s own terms, and you should review them before agreeing to any work.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time so that it reflects how we actually operate and what the law requires. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect. Material changes will be highlighted on this page, and where the change affects you materially we will notify you directly. Your continued use of the service means the updated policy applies from that point on.
Policy versions apply from their effective date onward. It is worth keeping a copy of this page from the date you arranged a referral, since the terms you agreed to are the ones in effect at the time of your request.
