Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 15, 2026
Applies to https://www.pestcontrolus.live
This policy explains what information Pest Controlus collects when you call, message or submit a form on this site, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We’ve written it in plain language on purpose.
In plain terms
Pest Controlus is a free referral and lead generation service. When you contact us, we record enough information to match you with an independent local pest control provider and to follow up about your request. That information is then shared with the provider we match you to. We do not sell your personal information, we are not a pest control contractor, and we never handle your payment for any treatment.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information you give us or that is generated by your use of this site. The categories below cover everything we hold.
Information you provide directly
- Contact details — your name, phone number, email address and preferred contact method.
- Property details — the service address or ZIP code, and whether the property is residential, rental, multi-family or commercial.
- Infestation details — the pest type, where you are seeing activity, severity, timeline, and any notes you add to a callback request.
- Photographs and documents — images or files you choose to send us by email, which may include images of the interior or exterior of your property.
- Preferences — availability windows, preferred appointment times, whether you have pets or small children, and any product sensitivities you disclose.
- Records of consent — the timestamp and channel of any consent you give to be contacted by call, text or email, including any statement submitted alongside that consent.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution, referring page, pages viewed and time spent on this site.
- Communication records — call logs with our referral line, message delivery and interaction records, and the outcome of any opt-out request.
- Approximate location — derived from your IP address and used to confirm provider coverage, not to track your movements.
We do not knowingly collect precise geolocation coordinates, biometric data, or sensitive personal information such as health diagnoses, financial account numbers, government identifiers or religious or philosophical beliefs. If you volunteer sensitive information in a free-text field, we will store it only as part of your request and treat it as confidential.
How We Use Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- To fulfil your request — identify the pest, confirm that a provider covers your address, and connect you with a matched provider.
- To communicate with you about your request, including confirming availability, relaying provider questions, and arranging an introduction.
- To send service reminders and confirmations you have requested, such as appointment coordination messages.
- To send marketing or informational communications about pest prevention, seasonal activity and service availability, where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law.
- To improve our matching quality, for example by understanding which pest types and areas we can and cannot cover.
- To detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse, spam or security incidents.
- To comply with legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations, including consent records required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and similar state and federal laws.
- To enforce our Terms and Conditions and this policy.
We process information based on one or more of the following legal bases, depending on your jurisdiction: your consent; the performance of a contract or steps preceding one; our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service; and compliance with a legal obligation.
How We Share Information
We are a referral service. Sharing your details with the providers we connect you to is the entire mechanism by which the service works, so we set it out plainly here rather than burying it.
Matched pest control providers
When you ask us to connect you, we share your name, phone number, email address, service address or ZIP code, pest type, infestation description, your stated availability, and any preferences you provided — such as pet-considerate or eco-conscious options — with the independent provider we match to your request. Once shared, that information is controlled by the provider, who becomes an independent third party. Those providers may contact you directly, may add you to their own marketing lists, and are subject to their own privacy policies. We do not control how they handle your information after the introduction, and we ask every provider in our network to apply the same transparency and consent standards we do.
We share the minimum necessary to make the match. We do not share your information with providers you have not been matched to, and we do not share it with unrelated third parties for their own marketing.
Other sharing situations
We may also disclose information in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers that help us operate the service — described in the next section.
- Legal and safety reasons — if we receive a valid legal process such as a subpoena, court order, or law enforcement request; to protect the rights, safety and security of users, ourselves or others; to detect fraud; or to comply with an applicable legal obligation.
- Corporate transactions — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, in which case we will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your direction — including sharing your details with a provider you have asked us to introduce you to, or where you have separately consented.
We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Where we disclose information that would otherwise count as a sale or sharing, we first obtain the required opt-in consent.
Service Providers / Analytics
We rely on a small number of third-party service providers to run this site. Each is bound by contract to process information only on our instructions and only to the extent needed to provide its service. The categories are:
- Hosting and infrastructure — the provider that hosts the website, manages the database behind our callback requests, and delivers email.
- Telecommunications — the carrier and messaging platforms that route our telephone line, text messages and automated notifications.
- Analytics — a provider that aggregates page views, referrers and general device data so we can understand which pages and services are useful. Analytics is configured to minimise collection and does not build advertising profiles about you.
- Error monitoring and security — services that log application errors and detect suspicious activity, used to keep the service available and secure.
- Professional advisers — legal, accounting and compliance advisers who assist us in meeting our obligations.
If we add a provider that falls outside these categories, we will update this section. You may request a list of our current sub-processors by contacting us.
Cookies
This site uses cookies and similar technologies. Because the service is a referral funnel, we keep the cookie layer deliberately light — we do not run third-party advertising cookies or cross-site behavioural tracking.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the site to function: maintaining your session, protecting forms against abuse and spam, remembering that you dismissed a notice, and remembering consent choices. They cannot be switched off without breaking parts of the site.
Analytics cookies
These tell us how many people use the site and which pages are useful, in aggregate. They do not identify you personally and can be disabled in your browser settings or through our consent controls where those are presented.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the callback form from working. Because browser storage is local to your device, clearing your cookies also clears any consent record held on your device, and we will ask you again.
SMS/Text and Email Consent
To contact you by text message or automated call, we rely on your express written consent. The following applies to every message we send.
- Express written consent — by providing your phone number and requesting a callback, or by submitting a request form, you confirm that you are the owner or authorised user of that number and consent to receive calls, text messages and automated messages from or on behalf of Pest Controlus at that number.
- Automated and prerecorded technology — messages may be sent by an automatic telephone dialing system, an artificial or prerecorded voice, or other automated technology. Message content, sender identification and opt-out instructions are provided in each message as required by law.
- Not a condition of purchase — your consent to receive calls, texts or email is not a condition of purchasing any service from us or from any matched provider, and it is not a condition of receiving a referral.
- Carrier and data charges — message and data rates may apply to each text message you send or receive, in addition to your regular wireless plan charges. You are responsible for these charges, and frequency varies by the nature of your request.
- How to revoke consent — you may revoke your consent at any time by replying STOP to any text message, following the unsubscribe link in any email, or calling +(934)-948-989 and asking to be removed. We will process your request within a reasonable period and in any event within the time required by applicable law.
- Carrier enforcement — we are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages caused by carrier filtering, network congestion, or your mobile provider’s handling of an opt-out request.
Transactional messages relating to an active request — such as confirming an introduction or a provider getting in touch — may continue briefly after an opt-out request while we close out that request.
Data Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as we are legally required to keep it.
- Referral requests — generally retained for up to 24 months from the last interaction, so we can service an ongoing request or address a later enquiry from the same household.
- Consent and communication records — call logs, consent timestamps and opt-out records are retained for the period required to evidence compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and similar laws, typically three years.
- Account and billing records — we do not collect payment information for referrals. Where a record exists, it is retained for the period required by tax and accounting law.
- Website analytics — aggregated analytics data is retained on a rolling basis and is deleted or anonymised on a short cycle.
- Suppression list — opt-out records are retained indefinitely in a suppression list so that we do not re-contact you in breach of your request.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it, anonymise it, or securely destroy it. Records subject to a legal hold or a pending dispute are retained until the hold is lifted.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. Where a right does not apply to us directly, we will help you exercise it with the provider we matched you to.
Access and portability
You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, along with a portable copy in a commonly used, machine-readable format.
Correction
You may ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete. We will correct it, or explain why we are not able to, and where we are unable we will notify you and invite you to contact the provider holding the information directly.
Deletion
You may request deletion of your information. We will delete it where we are legally permitted to do so. We may need to retain certain information where the law requires it — for example, consent records — and we will explain any limitation on your request.
Opting out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. If this ever changes, we will provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link and honour valid opt-out preference signals.
Limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for the purposes permitted under California law. If you would like to exercise this right, contact us and we will confirm.
Objection and restriction
You may object to processing based on our legitimate interest, request restriction of certain processing, or withdraw consent at any time, where the law provides those rights. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already occurred.
Non-discrimination
We do not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. We will not deny you a service, charge a different price, or provide a different level of service because you have exercised your rights.
Automated decision-making
We do not use your information for profiling in a way that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Provider matching is based on service coverage and pest type, and a person reviews requests rather than an algorithm alone.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@pestcontrolus.live or call +(934)-948-989. Please describe your request clearly and provide enough information for us to locate your records — typically your name, the phone number or email you used, and the service address. You may also use an authorised agent in most jurisdictions; we will require proof of that authorisation before acting. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, generally within 45 days.
Children’s Privacy
This service is intended for adults and for property owners or authorised occupants of property. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Neither the referral line nor the callback forms should be used by a child.
If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us — for example by using a parent’s phone number — contact us at support@pestcontrolus.live. We will investigate and delete the information promptly. We will not knowingly condition a child’s participation in any activity on providing personal information, and we will not use or disclose a child’s information for any purpose. We maintain reasonable procedures to ensure that we do not knowingly collect personal information from children, consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and applicable state law.
Security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold. These include encryption in transit for data submitted through this site, access controls limited to staff and contractors who need access in order to service requests, documented incident response procedures, and a security review of the vendors that process information on our behalf.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify you and any regulator as required by applicable law, describe what we know about it, and explain the steps we are taking — generally without undue delay and within the timeframe the law requires.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our service, providers or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect. When we make a material change, we will take reasonable steps to notify you — by updating that date, by posting a notice on this site, or by contacting you directly where we have your details. Your continued use of the service after a change means the updated policy applies to you from that point on.
