Scope of work

What this service covers

One surviving female German cockroach can repopulate an entire kitchen. Spray-based approaches are the reason so many people cycle through roach treatments for years: they kill what's visible and disperse the colony, spreading pressure into harder-to-reach harbourages. Effective control combines gel bait, growth regulators and follow-up.

  • Species identification — German, American, brown-banded and Oriental behave differently
  • Interior and exterior inspection to locate harbourages and egg cases
  • Gel bait placement in cracks, hinges and harbourage points
  • Growth regulator (IGR) application to break the life cycle
  • Perimeter treatment to block re-entry
  • Scheduled follow-up visits through the egg-hatching cycle

Warning signs

Signs you need Cockroaches

  • Roaches seen during daylight hours — a sign of a larger infestation
  • Pepper-like droppings in cupboards or drawers
  • Musty, sweet odour in enclosed spaces
  • Egg cases (oothecae) behind appliances and inside cabinets
  • Smear marks along walls near water or warm areas

Recognising the pest early is the cheapest intervention there is. If you’re unsure what you’re looking at, request a pest inspection & quote instead of guessing.

The process

How Cockroaches service works

  1. 1

    Step 1.Identify and locate

Species ID determines strategy — German roaches multiply exponentially, Oriental roaches live in drains, brown-banded roaches live above eye level in warm rooms.

  2. 2

    Step 2.Target harbourages

Gel bait and IGR are placed at the harbourage points rather than sprayed across open surfaces.

  3. 3

    Step 3.Break the cycle

Growth regulators stop immature roaches from maturing into reproductives, which is what actually ends the cycle.

  4. 4

    Step 4.Follow up

Return visits through the egg-hatching window catch emerging nymphs before the cycle restarts.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Why do roaches come back after spraying?

Most aerosol sprays are repellents — they push roaches deeper into walls and voids where they're harder to reach and harder to treat. Effective control uses bait and growth regulators, which the roach carries back to the colony.

Are German cockroaches resistant to pesticides?

Widely, yes — resistance to pyrethroids is well documented. This is another reason bait and IGR approaches outperform repeated spraying.

Why are there suddenly more after treatment?

Baiting often increases visible activity briefly as workers carry bait back to the colony. That's a sign it's working. True failure looks like no reduction after 2–3 weeks.
